Robert Lurie Sings The Solyoni Masterworks

Robert Lurie — long-time Solyoni contributor, and brother of co-frontman Dan Lurie — recently took it upon himself to reinvent some of the Solyoni masterworks. Using nothing more than his wildly creative mind, a TASCAM 8-track cassette recorder, and the assortment of banged-up instruments piled in the corner of his studio apartment, the elder Lurie has succeeded in breathing new life into four Solyoni classics:

1.Burt Reynolds Heart.
2.Amusment Park Untitled.
3.Nesting Doll.
4.Kicked in the Head by a Horse.

We welcome you to savor these exciting and completely unique reinterpretations. If you enjoy what you hear, head on over to solyoni.com where you can download the individual tracks from the audio page.

6th Annual Lurie Brothers Holiday Spectacular

It has become as much a part of Christmas as whiskey-soaked eggnog, frankincense and myrrh. It is the Lurie Brothers Holiday Spectacular, an annual musical extravaganza hosted by brothers Dan and Robert Lurie of Seattle band Solyoni. This year marked the 6th anniversary of this ever-popular event, and it was a particularly special one. Robert Lurie and partner in crime, Harper, open the show with an inspired set of masterful covers and originals with violin accompanyment. Colin Spring follows with a quick set that is both heartfelt and controversial. Then, Dan Lurie and Dominic Aulisio plow through the Solyoni catalog with help from Robert Lurie and Harper. Enjoy!
